You have a dream of feeling at home in Czech… but something’s holding you back.

You speak English at work.

You hang out with other expats.

You’ve studied Czech. Maybe even with teachers, apps, Duolingo, and textbooks.

But when it comes to real-life situations like talking to your child’s teacher, chatting with Czech friends, or booking a doctor’s appointment, you freeze.

You don’t want to just survive in Czech.

You want to belong.

To speak up.

To understand jokes and stories.

To stop nodding politely and finally join in.

Let me tell you a quick story of David, one of my amazing clients. Because you might see yourself in it.

-------------------

👨‍🦱 “After 5 years of living in Prague, I still didn’t speak much more than ordering in a restaurant or saying a couple of funny sentences.
It wasn’t lack of trying. I’d had teachers, I tried on my own… but life kept getting in the way.
Then I started working with Eliška.
At first, I said I wanted to work from a textbook. But I failed every week to do the exercises I planned.
Eventually, I realized I didn’t want to work with textbooks anymore.
Eliška connected me to a Czech speaker for regular conversations and gently pushed me out of my comfort zone to start using Czech with my Czech friends, colleagues, and doctors.
Czech became fun.
I had motivation again.
My progress increased exponentially.
Now, I use Czech daily. I stopped learning it. I started living it.” 👨‍🦱

----------------

David thought he needed more grammar.

More vocabulary.

More declension drills.

But that wasn’t the problem.

- He had already done the courses.

- Worked with teachers.

- Finished the textbooks.

So, what was it that finally made the difference?

✅ It was stepping outside the comfort zone and using Czech, even imperfectly.

✅ Accepting that mistakes are part of the process.

✅ Choosing real conversations over more studying.

That shift changed everything.

If you’re stuck in “Czech study mode” too and wondering why nothing’s working…

Maybe it’s not more Czech grammar or vocabulary you need.

Maybe it’s the confidence to start living Czech, just like David.
