We met offline to bake Christmas cookies in Czech!

🟡 Christmas cookies, Czech only, and zero awkward silence.

Not long ago, a small group of Czech learners came to my home in Prague for an offline Christmas cookie-baking afternoon.

Some participants already knew each other, others were meeting for the first time.

And honestly… when everyone arrived and immediately started talking, laughing, and getting to know one another (in Czech!), I almost felt bad about interrupting them to actually start baking. 😄

But we eventually got to the cookies, and it turned out amazing.

Everyone left not only with a box of perníčky, but also with new contacts, a step outside their comfort zone, and four full hours of speaking only Czech.

And that’s something many Czech learners don’t get very often.

It was such a beautiful afternoon, and I’m so grateful to everyone who came. 💛

Next year, there will definitely be more offline events, both paid and free. And the last weekend of August 2026, another "100% český víkend" at the mountain cottage (save the date!).
