Do you feel overwhelmed by all the tools for learning Czech?

Recently, I suggested to one of my clients that she could use ChatGPT to turn our practice sentences into flashcards for Anki.
She told me she's not familiar with ChatGPT and that learning it would feel like another project, so for now she prefers making her flashcards one by one.
Do you feel the same?
Are you learning Czech and sometimes feel like there are a billion-and-one apps, tools, websites, podcasts, textbooks, teachers, and YouTube channels for learning Czech?
Do you keep wondering which one will be the most effective?
Do you sometimes feel bad because everyone else seems to be using AI, and you’re not?
Do you feel bad because people keep talking about some new app, and even the thought of learning yet another tool feels exhausting?

But at the same time, you feel a bit of FOMO, because you think that if you don’t explore all these tools, you might be missing something, and your Czech won’t improve?
Here’s what I’d like to tell you:
Don’t worry about it.
The pace of the world today is so fast that it’s simply impossible to stay up to date with everything. Even if learning Czech were your full-time project.
And it probably isn’t, because alongside Czech, you also have work, family, friends, and hobbies.
Please don’t try to do everything.
Find a few tools that are simple to use, that you genuinely enjoy, and that you’ve tested and know actually work for you. Then focus on those.
What worked for me when I was learning Spanish years ago?
🟡 Anki flashcards for reviewing new phrases and sentences
🟡 Regular conversations with a native speaker (60 minutes per week)
🟡 YouTube videos about topics that interested me
🟡 Reading Harry Potter in Spanish.
And that was it.
I really didn’t do anything else, and it was completely enough.
If AI intimidates you or simply doesn’t appeal to you, and after a long day at work, you’d rather take a break from screens, you can absolutely use paper flashcards to study.
That’s perfectly fine.
And if you feel overwhelmed by all of this and would like some help creating a system that actually works for you, send me a message. We can take a look together at what kind of learning system would suit you best. 😊
